My Work Day Turned Out To Be Margaritas for Lunch

I was scheduled to go back to work today. As I'm driving in this morning, there was literally NO ONE on the road but me. When I got to work to see the parking lot look like this:

I was convinced that we were the only people in Atlanta going into the office today.

But when I got there, someone was already there so I guess I didn't have the wrong day. But I did ask her, why we were at work when everyone else was clearly still in bed. LOL.

When my boss arrived, she realized that today was, in fact, the holiday and told us to go home. My boss, a co-worker and I decided to go have lunch at Uncle Julio's on Peachtree. And we each had a celebratory margarita for 2012. Peep the polish (you know I try to keep them fly too):

That's my thumb! ;-)

Cute, right? My co worker (middle) is actually rocking Rimmel London in Steel Gray which I bought her for Christmas teeheehee. I love it when a plan comes together...Besos, P&P.

New Blog Direction for 2012

I had a chance to think long and hard about my blog over the holiday. Over the short 7ish months that I've been writing this blog, there were many times when I felt stifled by the topic. Don't get me wrong, as you can tell I really do love my Pearls and Polish but to be limited with only posting on those subjects was torture really weighing on me. I am not a nail artista nor do I want to be. I like nice colors on my nails and fly jewelry on my neck, wrist, etc. but my life is so much more than that. After all, just like my tag line says, I am a professional, "busy mom" and wife with a lot going on- like many of you. So although I will continue to make many posts along the lines of the blog title, there will also be other posts about my life, thoughts and family.  I also happen to love NBA basketball (I'm seriously like a fiend, you guys) and I have a lot to say about that too, especially on Twitter (follow me!). I hope that you will continue to read, follow and share. Either way, I wish you a happy and fulfilling 2012, perlas!...Besos, P&P.

It's crazy to see those pics and how much my hair has grown since then. That was my last big cut- 100% natural now! It wasn't hard to do the cut but being patient for my hair to get back to the length it was (midback) wow- its TORTURE!

Here's to shining in 2012!

When I first started this blog, I would post an inspirational or motivational quote daily that I called the "Daily Pearl." After a few months, I changed the name to DP because they weren't exactly daily. I decided to see which were my inspirational posts for the year by pageviews. Here they are (click on the link):
