P&P's Top Polish Picks for 2011

So much polish, so little time. I wanted to choose 11 top polish picks for 2011 but I couldn't narrow it past 14.  Please keep in mind that all of these were purchased by me in 2011- this does not mean that 2011 was their debut year.

Here are my top polish picks for 2011 (not in any particular order):

A perfect blue. Heavenly.

Perfect coral color. Girly and sassy. (Can you believe I got this for $1 at Dollar Tree?)

The perfect purple. And its scented.
I have to give an honorable mention to L'Oreal in Viva Violet for also having a fab purple.

I mean, come on. The name speaks for itself.

What can I say? This is just a freakin dope-ass gray!

Polish Change: Rimmel London in Steel Gray

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. Mine went well other than that my computer decided that it would no longer power up (insert expletives). It is for that reason that my blogging has been limited (although you can always find me on Twitter). And yeah, that issue has not yet been resolved but I don't want to talk about that right now.

Anyway, so over the Thanksgiving holiday, I found myself at Target (although it certainly doesn't take a holiday to find me there). I am never overly impressed with their selection (at least not at the location closest to my house). I was actually looking for Essie in Very Structured because I thought that would be the perfect Thanksgiving color. Never found it. But I did stumble upon a brand that I had not tried before- Rimmel London. I really like grey colors so I picked it up in "Steel Grey."

The brush was a bit awkward (kind of like the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure brush which I can't stand) but oddly enough the application was not bad at all. The first coat was pretty thin so I added another. These are pics with two (yes, only two) coats. Check it out:

Wow! This is a Pretty Purple

My family and I are in Valdosta visiting my hubby's family. Before we left to come here, I grabbed probably about 10 different bottles of polish because I desperately needed wanted to do both my hands and feet. I couple of weeks ago, I found some more of the Revlon Scented Polish and picked up "Grape Icy" since I have been looking for shades of purple.

Polish Change: 3 (yes, three) L'Oreal Color Reviews- Viva Violet, Caramel, and Sheer Breathless

Remember I found some L'Oreal polish at the Dollar Tree? Well, I decided to try a few of them out to see how I liked them. Let me start off by saying that I was extremely surpised at the ease of the polish application. The polish was not streaky like some other polish (even higher end polish) can be.

So my favorite of the three that I tried was Viva Violet. LOVE IT. The purple is so pretty and vibrant. It has a perle finish so it is shiny but still creamy at the same time. Check out my pics.

Polish Change: Confetti in Moonstruck

Yesterday, my son and I went to kill time at CVS during my daughter's softball practice. After we were able to find an appropriate bubble-blowing contraption for my two year old (he is obsessed with bubbles), I was able to concentrate on nail polish YAY.

This time I wanted to feature a polish that was not in the $5 and above range. I know that there are many readers who may not want to pay $5- $12 for a bottle of nail polish. So I picked up a polish called Confetti in a creamy looking purplish gray color called Moonstruck. The polish was only $1.99! I think this can fit into anyone's budget even with these ridiculous gas prices (OMG I may need to trade my new truck in!).

Honestly, I was impressed with the ease of the application.  The first coat is definitely really light but the second coat gave it a creamy full look. I really like the color. It's a laid-back purple- classy and tame. Great color for those of you who may work in a corporate environment or aren't into bright colors.

So just so you know, I am a word freak. I wanted to really understand why the folks at Confetti named this color "Moonstruck." Clearly, it wasn't in honor of Cher (remember she was in that movie "Moonstruck)  because Cher could not be represented by anything this tame. So, I looked it up in the dictionary to make sure that I wasn't missing anything and it all became clear. Moonstruck can mean romantically sentimental and this polish definitely has that soft subtle quality (it can also mean mentally unbalanced but I don't think they were going for that).

Anyway, check out my pics:

So creamy and nice, right? And only $1.99 at CVS! P&P Do!...Besos, P&P.
