Anyone who knows me knows that I have suffered from a dry and itchy scalp like forever. I swear I have tried every freakin product from prescription to Nizoral to Head and Shoulders and yeah even that BS T-Gel. Nothing has really worked....Anyway, so I always bring my own shampoo to the salon. I decided to try something new since nothing really worked anyway. This is what I picked up at...Actually I'm not going to tell you where I got it just because I'm disgusted with their stores in inner city areas. So you won't hear any more plugs from me. But you can find this at any drug store chain. Check it out!

Caught With My Khakis Down in Mobile, AL
OK so this post is really not that interesting but it was a cute headline, wasn't it? Caught With My Khakis Down is actually one of my new faves by Sephora by OPI. I actually bought this polish months ago in Mobile, AL of all places. I know what you're thinking- they have Sephora in Mobile, ALABAMA??? Yeah I didn't think they would have a Sephora in Mobile either. To be clear, it was inside of the JCPenney not a stand alone.

Spotlight on Blue: Milani in Dude Blue
Let me start off by saying that this is my first time using a Milani nail lacquer. I passed by their display several times in CVS, picked up a few of their colors on several occasions but never actually purchased...not quite sure why. It wasn't until I saw their tutorials on nail art technicques on their website that I really considered their brand to purchase. I like when companies provide tips- really useful tips- to their customers (Kudos to Milani). I actually purchased two colors- a blue and a yellow- which I've had for weeks. Since my focus is on blue this month, I figured this would be the perfect time to try the blue shade.
Dude Blue is actually part of Milani's "Neon" Collection. Honestly, that threw me off a little because I don't really consider myself the neon type but my obsession for blue influenced the purchase. Well guess what, perlas??? I LOVE this color! It's really not as bright (neon) as I imagined that it would be. The application was great and the polish is so vibrant, full and shiny after two coats. I couldn't find my fav top coat but this polish really didn't need it from a shine perspective. Check out my pics!

I really love, love, love this color! Definite P&P Please DO!
Your thoughts?...Any recos for blue colors that you love that I could highlight during the month of September?...Besos, P&P.

Polish Change: Barielle in Slate of Affairs
Hi perlas! So this is my first review since my brief hiatus (sorry about that). I've still been doing my nails so I have some catch up to do! I figure that while I'm recovering from oral surgery, this is a great time for me to post since I am confined to my house (I look like a chipmunk from the swelling- NOT cute...actually its a mix of chipmunk and the guy from the movie "Mask" with Cher LOL).
So a month or two ago, I ordered several nail polishes from ULTA.com, one of which was Barielle in Slate of Affairs. Some of you may not have heard of Barielle but it is another great brand with polish around $8. I just wish I could find it in more retail outlets in Atlanta.
I really like Slate of Affairs. It's a great color a mix of gray and blue. The dominant color really depends on the light. The polish is high shine and lasts. The application was easy and smooth.
Here is the color as shown from the Barielle website:

Polish Change: OPI in Mermaid's Tears
So I picked up Mermaid's Tears (Remember? From OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean collection?) last weekend at Beauty Express at Tanger Outlets. And it was all that I hoped it would be!! I LOVE this color. Its like a seafoam greenish blue. The color makes me smile every time I look at my nails. My husband said it reminds him of an "Easter egg... but in a good way."....ok (I think?)...LOL. Check out my pics!

Polish Change: 3 (yes, three) L'Oreal Color Reviews- Viva Violet, Caramel, and Sheer Breathless
Remember I found some L'Oreal polish at the Dollar Tree? Well, I decided to try a few of them out to see how I liked them. Let me start off by saying that I was extremely surpised at the ease of the polish application. The polish was not streaky like some other polish (even higher end polish) can be.
So my favorite of the three that I tried was Viva Violet. LOVE IT. The purple is so pretty and vibrant. It has a perle finish so it is shiny but still creamy at the same time. Check out my pics.

Mmm Mmm Mandarine
Another cute color, perlas. The perfect mix of coral, pink, and orange. L'Oreal in Mandarine. Yes, Mandarine. I think the name is supposed to represent a combination of Mandarin Orange and Tangerine...maybe... But whatever its cute and fun for the Spring... It was a little light so I applied three coats. I think it looks great! Perfect complement to my brown skin. Would also look phenomenal at the beach for those tanning!...And it was at Dollar Tree in a two pack- so it really cost me 50 cents (C-R-A-Z-Y). I'm not even sure if they still make this polish anymore but it's a definite P&P Please Do. What do you think?

HOT for Spring, right???
Today I was encouraged by a Fab Soror Perla to include some videos for my blog. So this weekend, I will be working on two videos- one on the whole new shatter, crackle polish phenomenon and the other will be on lengths for pearl necklaces. Be on the look out!...Besos, P&P.

Weekend Find- Pearl Hair Accessories
OK so like every mother in the U.S., I was running errands this Saturday morning. My daughter's softball game was canceled so I had the chance to get out early and get some shopping done. Of course, I made my way again to Dollar Tree because they have these french toast bites that my son absolutely loves! Anyway, I went to look in the hair section for more headbands for my daughter (did I mention I'm also borderline obsessed with hair accessories? lol). And what did I find??? Yes, three more pearl headbands. All are from a company named Le Pearl. These I felt are a bit more grown up so I have modeled them myself. Check them out!!
The first one on the left is a two strand pearl headband. The part that goes around the back of your head is elastic so it fits snugly. In addition, it really pulls the hair when you slide it on. As you can see, its really cute. P&P Please Do!
The headband in the middle is black lace with pearls sewn into the material kind of like a garter belt. I wasn't too sure about this one but bought it anyway because I wanted mis perlas to see it. It's not really my cup of tea but check it out- I put two pics because I felt you needed to see both to get the gist.
And lastly, the headband on the right is a thick band made of up pearls. It really holds the hair back and looks cute while doing so. Again, there is elastic in the back so you just slide it on and it fits snugly. Definite P&P Please Do!
And guess what? I also found the same headband from last week click here but this location had a 2-pack with a white and pink pearl headband (as opposed to two white). Cute! (Like how you can see my thumb in my new love, Essie in Coat Azure! ;-) (click here for my review on Coat Azure)
The best thing about all of these headbands is that they cost $1!!! You can get one for every female in your family!! I still can't get over that!...Besos, P&P.

P&P Please Do: Sanaa Lathan
I don't know about you but I love Sanaa Lathan. She's beautiful, poised, talented and carries herself with such class. I just wish she got more work in Hollywood. She deserves it!...I love her look below with the multiple strands of pearls complementing her red dress. She looks elegant and refined. The nude polish on her fingers completes the look with the matching clutch and shoes. Definite P&P Please Do! Sanaa, keep shining, perla!...Besos, P&P.

Polish Change: ORLY Green Apple
Oh what a difference a day makes, perlas! So I'm sorry but I could not take that yellow on my hands. I know that I said that I would give it a couple of days but I couldn't. I will say that I could definitely rock the yellow on my toes though... Instead of giving up completely on Orly, I decided to try another color that I bought last week. OMG! I love, love, love it! The color is called "Green Apple" and it's just as sweet and sour as it sounds. This green is the perfect shade to compliment my brown skin. It's not loud nor is it too green. It is a fabulous green for Spring. Rock it on your fingers or your toes. Check out the pics that I took:

P&P Please Do- SJP
I don't know about you but I love, love, love Sarah Jessica Parker- or as I fondly call her, SJP. You may call her "Carrie." Nonetheless most of us have a fond place in our heart for her from "Sex In The City." Well, check this out, I think she loves pearls almost as much as we do! And that's a hard thing to do, right?? Check out some of these fab photos of SJP rocking her pearls. From necklaces, to earrings, from traditional to colored- SJP has it going on! Maybe she should do an Open Letter to Nicki Minaj like Kevin Powell did for Chris Brown (if you didn't see his letter, please google it- phenomenal)... Anyway, let the fabulosity that is SJP begin:
SJP, if you're listening, keep shining, perla!...Besos, P&P.
