Polish Change- Revlon in Cotton Candy

After about a week of searching, I finally found  Revlon's scented nail polish. Yep, you read that correctly- scented nail polish. Seems like something that would be marketed to my 9 year old daughter but for some reason I really got excited about it (but let's keep it real, when do I not get excited about polish?). Maybe its the kid in me- remember those scratch'n'sniff stickers from back in the day??? Loved those!

Anyway, I went to a variety of stores and finally found a couple of shades at the Walmart in Union City (of all places!). The display looked pretty crappy (polish all over it) and was pretty much empty but I was able to find it nonetheless. Look at this mess!

They only had a few options but it seemed like a no-brainer to me to pick the prettiest pink.
The pink was so soft and girly- the type of color that I haven't purchased in a while since I've been focused on these bright colors lately. So I picked up the bottle and guess what it's called? Cotton Candy! Although it says "scented when dry," of course, I had to open the bottle to get a quick whiff. And yep, cotton candy! Now please note that I don't even like cotton candy- yuck! But the fact that it smelled even remotely like the real thing was pretty cool to me.

As soon as I got home, I had to try it. It had the same type of application like any other Revlon polish- I thought it may be different because of the additional ingredients for the scent but nope. And after it dried, it really did smell like I had cotton candy on my finger tips. And on top of that, it really was a perfect pink. Check out my pics.

Isn't it a pretty pink????

Revlon has around 15 scented colors with names like Coconut Crush, Peach Smoothie, Mad About Mango and Not So Blueberry- none of which they had in stock at Walmart. They even have a color called Beach (I imagine that would smell like suntan lotion, don't you?). My daughter wanted to get the cherry scented polish, "Mon Cheri," but I think that was her way of trying to get to wear red (tricky tricky lol).

Have you heard of this polish? Have you ever tried it? What did you think of it? I'd love to see your pics...Besos, P&P.

  1. Hello,

I been following you when I can and I will like to 1st thank you for the info you provide us. I'm currently in nail school and the info you provide is great, gives me an idea or even a heads up on some brand of polish lol. Anyway back to your post, I never thought of "Scented Nail Polish" I would love that.

I will like to know how long the scent will last. If you can give us (me) a trail please do so. I will like to suggest different things to my clients. But hey I will buy it so I can give it a try. I think that is so cool a scented polish.

    Thanks

  2. Hi DiamondsTouch!

OMG Thanks so much for the awesome comment! Im so glad that you like the blog. Congrats on being in nail school! I think about it all the time...but I have a real problem with feet- yuck! lol.

Yeah, I thought the scented polish was pretty cool also. Unfortunately, I take my polish off pretty quick to put on a new one so I honestly don't know how long the scent will last. I only had the polish on for about two days- I still smelled the cotton candy...Hope this helps!...Besos, P&P.
